  • Support Team

Whether you call our office or come in, you’ll be greeted by a member of our amazing administrative team. Both Franca and Tanya help to keep our clinic days running smoothly, and help facilitate any connections you need to make within our practice. If you’re in the office frequently, you might also catch a glimpse of Leslie, our Practice Administrator. Leslie works to keep our busy clinic functioning well and making sure we have everything we need to care for you and your baby.

  • Student Midwife: Camille

I’m Camille, a fourth-year midwifery student at McMaster University. I grew up on a strawberry farm in Embrun, a village in Eastern Ontario. Before starting my midwifery students at McMaster, I attended the University of Ottawa and graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences. Continuity of care, reproductive and sexual health rights and improved access to healthcare are all core tenets that first drew me to midwifery. During my midwifery placements, I have been privileged to learn in Ottawa, Thunder Bay, and St. Johns (Nfld and Labrador). My hobbies including camping, trying out new food recipes, watercolour, and having my nose stuck in history books. I am fluent in both English and French. I look forward to being a part of your care team and I am grateful to be a part of your wonderful journey.

In October 2011, Ottawa South Midwives was established with a mission to cater to the needs of expanding families in Ottawa. Our philosophy revolves around the belief that pregnancy and childbirth are natural and healthy processes. While we acknowledge that complications can occur, we collaborate closely with doctors, nurses, lactation consultants, doulas, and other healthcare providers as necessary.

Our practice boasts of midwives proficient in English, French, Russian, Mandarin, Ukrainian, and Kinyarwanda, ensuring that language barriers are not a hindrance to receiving quality care.

Midwives within our practice are granted privileges at The Ottawa Hospital – Civic Campus for hospital births and provide out-of-hospital birth options for low-risk clients, whether at home or at the Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre.

If you're expecting and considering midwifery care, we encourage you to complete our intake form as early in your pregnancy as possible.
